Today, we pause to honor and remember the courageous men and women who made the ultimate sacrifice in service to our nation. Their dedication, bravery, and selfless commitment to protecting our freedoms will never be forgotten.
As we gather with family and friends this Memorial Day, we encourage everyone to take a moment to reflect on the true meaning of this day and to remember those who gave their lives in defense of our country.

Today, the Bristol Life Saving Crew family gathers with heavy hearts to honor and remember Joe Minor at his funeral service at 1:00 PM at Akard Funeral Home.
Joe was a devoted member of our crew, a loyal friend, and a familiar face whose kindness and generosity touched so many. His dedication to serving others and his unwavering support of our first responders left a lasting impact that will never be forgotten.
While we mourn this tremendous loss, we also celebrate Joe’s life, his service, and the countless memories he leaves behind. His legacy of compassion and commitment will continue to inspire us all.
Please keep Joe’s family, friends, and his Bristol Life Saving Crew family in your thoughts and prayers today as we honor a life well lived. He will be deeply missed, but never forgotten. 💚 🚑

Visitation will be held at Akard Funeral Home

⏰ 5:00 PM – 7:00 PM
📍 Tuesday, May 12, 2026 Funeral service will begin at 1:00 PM at Akard Funeral Home.
Following the service, the Bristol Life Saving Crew will transport Joe to Mountain View Cemetery on Valley Drive.
The officers of Bristol Life Saving Crew will serve as Honor Guard and stand watch at the casket during visitation.
Joe was born on August 29, 1931, and passed away on May 3, 2026.
Joe joined the Bristol Life Saving Crew on March 2, 1952, and remained an active life member until his passing — dedicating over 74 years of service to this organization and community. During his time with the Crew, he faithfully served in several leadership roles including Board Member, Vice President of the Board, President of the Board, and Captain through multiple terms.
His dedication, leadership, and unwavering commitment to the Bristol Life Saving Crew will never be forgotten.

A devoted life member of the Bristol Life Saving Crew and a friend to all, he gave so many years of his life serving as a dedicated crew member. He was always there—showing up not just with donuts, but with kindness, laughter, and a heart for every first responder he met. Those small acts meant more than words can ever express. His presence brought comfort, his generosity brought smiles, and his impact will be felt for years to come. He will never be forgotten, Joe Minor will be deeply, deeply missed.
