TRAFFIC SAFETY ALERT – HOPE STREET

The Bristol Police Department continues to receive complaints regarding speeding and aggressive driving in the area of Hope Street between Washington Street and Chestnut Street.

As part of our efforts to address these concerns, the Department recently conducted a speed study in the area, which identified a significant concern with vehicle speeds.

📍 Please remember:

* Hope Street from Washington Street through Chestnut Street: Please obey the posted speed limit.
* Chestnut Street to Poppasquash Road: 30 MPH
* Poppasquash Road through the downtown area: 25 MPH

Our officers are actively conducting traffic enforcement in this area to address speeding and reckless driving and to improve safety for everyone using our roadways.

🚗 Please slow down.
📱 Stay off your handheld device while driving.
🚶 Be alert for pedestrians, especially at crosswalks.

Speeding doesn’t just put the driver at risk—it puts pedestrians, cyclists, passengers, and other motorists at risk as well.

Please help us keep Bristol’s roads safe. Slow down, stay focused, and drive responsibly.
