Joyce Asack Ward 6 School Committee Joyce is a lifelong resident of Brockton, raised in a working class family. Her mother and father immigrated to the United States from Lebanon in 1978.

A first-generation American, Joyce brings first-hand understanding of the immigrant experience. Joyce has made both her life and her living in Brockton. She graduated from Brockton High School and earned a degree in bachelors of science and paralegal studies. She has continued to work over 20 years as a paralegal most recently working with attorney John Mccluskey office and estate planning. Joyce has worked as a realtor at Jack Conway & Co at both the Brockton and Abington locations. Most recently she joined Remax synergy in March of 2017. Joyce serves on many subcommittees as a current committee member. She serves on the accounts review, facilities, building naming, policy, and finance. Joyce advocates for all the students of Brockton and her two schools Ashfeild and Brookfeild. She has profound investments in the future of the City of Brockton and the school system.

Here are some Back to School Safety Tips for students and drivers!

⏰ Plan accordingly. Leave extra time for your travels.
👀 Be sure to look out for children crossing roadways.
🛑 STOP when a school bus stops!

If a school bus 🚌 or transport vehicle 🚐 has its red lights flashing🚨 and a stop sign 🛑 extended, you must come to a complete stop. It is the law!✋👮‍♂️ It does not matter which side of the road you are traveling on. Remain stopped until the lights stop flashing or the stop sign folds back in.

We want all our students and families to be safe traveling back and forth from school each day!

📚🎒 It's that time of year again! 🎒📚

Please join us for the 11th Annual Brockton Public Schools Backpack Giveaway as we help prepare our students for a successful school year!

This year, we will be distributing 6,500 backpacks filled with school supplies to Brockton Public Schools students.

🙋‍♀️ Volunteers Needed!
I am looking for volunteers to assist with setup, backpack distribution, and cleanup. If you're available to help, please contact me directly at [email protected].

🍕💧 Want to Support Our Volunteers?
Many of you asked last year how you could help, and we truly appreciate it! If you'd like to support our volunteers by donating food, snacks, or drinks—or if you know of a local business interested in sponsoring the event—please let me know.

Some of our current needs include:

8/10 cases of bottled water
Individually wrapped snacks (chips, cookies, candy..)
Approximately 15/20 either large or bar size pizza

Backpacks are scheduled to be delivered that morning, and we anticipate beginning setup at approximately 11:00 a.m., with distribution starting promptly at 1:00 p.m.

Thank you to Cradles to Crayons for providing the backpacks and for helping make this event possible.

Every year, this event is made successful because of our incredible volunteers, sponsors, and community partners. Thank you for helping us make a difference for Brockton's students and families. We hope to see you there!
