Disgusted with the below.

I also attached my email to the Ordinance Committee and City of Brockton City Council.

I suggest all tax paying residents of the city voice their displeasure as well.

25% of City of Brockton residents don't pay their trash fees and there are no repercussions. So of course, let's raise the rates on the people who do pay their bills.
Maybe stop picking up the trash of people who don't pay, or shut off their water.

REPORTING TO YOU - INFORMATION UPDATE
Tuesday, March 31st at 6:00PM in the City Council Chamber, the Ordinance Committee of the City Council will debate an increase in the city's curbside trash fee.
FACTS:
*An increase to $130 per quarter is requested.
*Because of changes in the contract with Republic Waste, the Enterprise Fund for refuse IS running a deficit of $1.3-$1.4 million this year. (2026)
*For Fiscal Year 2027 - without an increase, the deficit will again be $1.5-$1.6 million.
*Only 3 out of 4 accounts are paying the refuse fee. (See chart below from the city.)
QUESTIONS:
*What is the detailed plan to increase the collection rate?
*What substantive steps may the city legally initiate to have everyone pay their fair share. No business could survive if only 3 out of 4 customers paid what is owed.
NOTE: The city does place a lien on property but unless someone refinances or sells that property, you could wait 20+ years to collect the lien amount.

Thanks for reading this. Stay safe.

I open a seeclickfix issue for a pothole and they tell me to reach out to Utilities?? They can't do it? Great service.

So happy to pay the excise tax bills I just received in the mail. Obviously the money is going to good use.
Pictures of my street prove it.

I am not advancing to November. Thank you to all who supported me, I exceeded my vote expectations and am honored to receive people's votes. I will be picking up signs over the next couple of days.
Hope whoever gets in represents Ward 1 properly and addresses the issues in the City of Brockton, not putting their head in the sand like some current members.
I'll be watching....

Tomorrow's the day. Will be either the end or real beginning of my campaign. Consider receiving anyone's vote and honor.
Appreciate the support.
Thank you!

2 days out. I am the dark horse candidate for sure. The others have run before or have the backing of a political party. I am my only financial backer. Hoping to advance to November but will be tough.
Thank you for those who have spread the word or placed signs on your lawns.
Please tell your Ward 1 neighbors and friends vote Keene on Tuesday.
Thank you

Brockton City Council Ward 1 candidate William Keene: His position on 3 key topics 09/12/2025

Check out my answers to the questions from the Enterprise.
Certainly not much of a sample, so many more topics, but guess can only print so much.
Looking at the answers from the other candidates seems we are pretty like minded. Hopefully everyone keeps the same tune when elected. I know I will!

This is what is wrong and affecting cities like Brockton. Multiple time offenders released back into the public each time they are arrested until they do something like this heinous act. Soft on crime policies hurt cities (and innocent people!!) the most. Not really a city councilor issue but just had to get that off my chest.
