Resonetics, founded in Nashua New Hampshire, has been dedicated to solving complex manufacturing challenges since its inception in 1987. It began as a laser systems integration company and is now focused on advanced micro medical device manufacturing. Vertical integration allows it to streamline development and accelerate time to market, and targeted acquisitions and greenfield investments have resulted in rapid growth. With 20 manufacturing locations globally and more than 3,000 employees, Resonetics has positioned itself as a global leader in its field.

This growth was on display at the Grand Opening on August 5 where municipal leaders were treated to a tour of Resonetics’ newest operation in Brookfield. “The opening of this new building represents much more than added capacity—it reflects our commitment to extending our impact with our customers and the patients they serve. This investment positions us for continued growth, strengthens our ability to deliver meaningful innovation, and creates local jobs with real purpose. We are proud to expand in a way that supports our customers, our community, and the people whose lives are improved by the work we do every day”, said Kevin Kelly, Resonetics CEO.

“Resonetics' expansion at Berkshire Corporate Park in Brookfield, is another great example of Greater Danbury's ability to attract and retain advanced manufacturing companies by offering the skilled workforce, quality locations, regional connectivity, and collaborative partnerships that businesses need to succeed. The Chamber is proud to work alongside municipal and state partners, the Steiner Family, and the Brookfield Economic Development team to support business success and strengthen our communities," said Maura Ruby, President and CEO of the Greater Danbury Chamber of Commerce.

It's official. Sola Wellness is open for business in the heart of the Town Center District at 802 Federal Rd, suite 3.

Sola Wellness (www.solawellnessaesthetics.com, phone 203-546-7547), founded by sisters Mercedes Singer, RN, BSN, and Diana Cordova, are pleased to announce the grand opening of their business at 802 Federal Road Suite 3 on Friday, July 31. Hours of operation are noon till 6:00pm. The ribbon cutting will be at noon and visitors will receive a five-class pack to their movement studio and one vitamin infusion.

Mercedes spent 11 years as a registered nurse, with experience in emergency trauma and ambulatory surgery. While caring for patients, she realized many people were searching for ways to improve their health before illness developed. That inspired her to pursue additional training in functional medicine and aesthetics and ultimately open Sola Wellness. Diana played a key role in bringing that vision to life. Sola Wellness brings together medical wellness services and a movement studio under one roof. In addition to functional medicine, IV therapy, recovery services, and aesthetics, the movement studio offers yoga, pilates, sculpt, and community wellness events designed to help people move well, feel well, and connect with others. "We wanted Sola Wellness to be more than a wellness center, we wanted it to become a community where people feel welcomed, supported, and empowered to invest in their long-term health."

While Connecticut has enjoyed a period of relative calm over the last five years, the tropical systems of 2021 (Elsa, Fred, Henri, and Ida) and the severe flood of August 2024 were reminders of the risks posed by natural disasters. The region’s communities have shared in the development and adoption of a “natural hazard mitigation plan” for two decades, with updates incorporated every five years.

WestCOG is performing resilience planning to inform future hazard mitigation plans. Efforts will lead to mitigation actions that can be taken to reduce losses of property and life due to natural disasters like floods, severe wind events, winter storms, wildfires, droughts, extreme heat events, and earthquakes.

People living and working in the WestCOG Planning Region can take the short online survey (2min, 5 questions) and sign up for updates for upcoming public meetings. https://arcg.is/1W1TvC0
