News Release: Think you know what’s growing and buzzing in Brookings’ parks? September is your chance to take a closer look. 🐝

People of all ages are invited to join in the city’s inaugural Pollinator BioBlitz, a volunteer-powered exploration of the plants and pollinators that call the city’s parks home. 🦋

The month-long effort will culminate in a one-day celebration of pollinators at the Dakota Nature Park (1705 32nd St. S.) on Saturday, Sept. 26. The Parks for Pollinators BioBlitz event will take place from 1 to 4 p.m.

“There will be something for everyone, including exploring the trails, fun crafts, and opportunities to learn from local pollinator experts,” said Madalynn Graham, who is spearheading the effort on behalf of the Brookings Parks, Recreation and Forestry Department in coordination with the Sustainability Council.
