We came up a little short last night. The preliminary numbers were Kimberly 4192 Lynne 3492 Sean 639.
Having achieved 42% of the vote as a first-time candidate, relatively unknown to many three months ago, is something that we can all be immensely proud of!
Most importantly, the Town of Brookline will have the steady hand and historical perspective of Bernard Greene and the listening and thoughtful decision-making skills of David Pearlman on the Select Board.
And the wisdom of Carolyn Thall and Jesse Hefter on the School Committee.
The gratitude I have for all of you is immense. Many of you barely knew me, but nevertheless you worked tirelessly on my behalf to guide me strategically, inform me of events, introduce me to residents, spread the word, host lawn signs and provide donations.
This shows how much the residents of Brookline not only care about leadership in their community, but that you can unite as a team to support someone/something that you believe in.
A special thanks to the following (you all know what you did):
• • Patricia Barnwell
• John Doggett
• Neil Gordon
• Nancy Heller and Brookline PAX
• Rabbi Mendy
• Linda Olson Pelke and Brookline By Design
• Thomas Rezendes
• The Honorable Massachusetts State Representative Tommy Vitolo
• Sassan Zelkha
I have no regrets; this was an amazing growth opportunity for me.
Along the way I was able to point several residents to much needed resources.
I feel this alone is a win. And I hope to continue to be a resource for Brookline.
I was to meet all of you, learn about my hometown community as an adult, and learn about the issues most important to Brookline.
I look forward to continuing meaningful discussions and relationships with all of you.
Best, Lynne

Many hands make light work at the Hall Pond Spring Community Day clean up and planting. Lynne will "dig in" and work just as hard for the Brookline Housing Authority.

I’ve been busy and having fun campaigning, and getting to know my hometown again.
So far this weekend I have attended the cultural fair at Ridley School, Fisher Hill Soccer and Open Studios in Brookline Village.
In meeting residents on the campaign trail, I have heard some amazing stories of the accomplishments of Brookline residents, their participation in town government, their support for my campaign and most importantly, their ideas and resources that could aid the BHA.
Maybe you have received my mailers, received a personal call from me, seen me out on the campaign trial, or seen my signs on yards and fences all over town.
Why do I have such broad and support across Brookline?
Because residents understand that I will be a working board member. That I will not only show up, but I will bring my passion, insight and ideas to further the great work of the Brookline Housing Authority.
Because residents understand that my lifetime of professional and personal experience will improve the BHA's real estate, add new housing units and create new services and opportunities to the residents of the BHA.
For these reasons, I hope I have earned your vote.

The biggest question I am asked when I am out campaigning is what does the BHA do? Please follow this link to the BHA Annual impact report. It shows how it has evolved over the past 75 years, its programming, partnerships and real estate. [https://acrobat.adobe.com/id/urn:aaid:sc:VA6C2:8d648445-3f02-41d0-bcbb-40623ba907c8]
The second question I am asked is why do you want to run for BHA? Today I was at early voting at town hall and and coolidge corner. It was such a pleasure to meet two residents who live in public housing and one who has a BHA mobile voucher. One volunteers at the senior center, and one at the poles. The common theme was how happy they are with BHA and living with in Brookline. I am running because I believe I have the skills to continue to enhance BHA programming and real estate, and continue to put smiles on the faces of its residents.

Fair Housing for all is still the charge for today even the act was adopted in 1968. Housing is a gateway to were people can live, thrive, have access to healthy food, schools, outdoors activities and lift people up. It is imperative to continue to think about what fair housing is, identify the impediments, and identify tools to combat it. So pleased to spend this time with CHAPA today and learn about more resources.

Vote Lynne Sweet for Brookline Housing Authority!
With over 40 years of housing experience I am running for the open seat on the Brookline Housing Authority because this is personal for me - and I understand the challenges facing our community.
If elected, I'll use my professional experience and passion to create and maintain fair, affordable housing in Brookline. I can help identify meaningful funding sources, improve procurement opportunities, and effectively negotiate construction and maintenance costs.
I will bridge the gap between residents, the BHA Board, and management to make the money work!
