Man Arrested and Charged for Role in Plotting to Conduct a Mass-Shooting Event in Support of ISIS at the Mall of America

Today, and the US Attorney’s Office of Minnesota announced the arrest of Twin Cities resident Sheikhdoon Abdullahi Mohamud, charged with one count of knowingly receiving a fi***rm and am******on knowing that they would be used to commit a felony or a federal crime of terrorism.

“When the FBI receives credible evidence indicating someone is seeking to carry out a violent attack, we unremittingly pursue the threat to protect our communities,” said FBI Minneapolis Special Agent in Charge Christopher D. Dotson. “Thanks to the dedicated efforts of the Minneapolis Joint Terrorism Task Force, instead of finding the means to kill countless innocent Americans, this defendant found a team of FBI Special Agents there to arrest him and ensure he is held accountable in federal court.”
