📣 Change of Responsibility – 347th Regional Support Group

Today, the 347th Regional Support Group marked an important transition as Outgoing Command Sgt. Maj. Christian Hudson passed responsibility to Incoming Command Sgt. Maj. Thomas Smith.

A central moment of the ceremony is the passing of the sword, a symbolic act representing the transfer of trust, authority, and accountability. This tradition highlights the continuity of leadership and the commitment to uphold the values, discipline, and readiness of the formation.

The role of a Brigade Command Sgt. Maj. is one of the most critical positions within the unit. As the senior enlisted advisor to the brigade commander, the CSM is responsible for overseeing the morale, welfare, and professional development of Soldiers, ensuring training standards are met, maintaining discipline, and serving as the voice and advocate for the enlisted force. The position requires a steadfast commitment to mentorship, cohesion, and the overall effectiveness of the brigade.

We extend our deepest appreciation to Command Sgt. Maj. Hudson for his dedicated service and the leadership he has provided throughout his tenure. As Command Sgt. Maj. Smith assumes this vital role, we welcome his experience, steady leadership, and commitment to guiding the Soldiers of the 347th forward.

Please join us in thanking CSM Hudson and congratulating CSM Smith during this meaningful moment of tradition and transition.

📣 Change of Responsibility – HHC, 347th Regional Support Group

Today, we honor a significant moment in the legacy of Headquarters and Headquarters Company, 347th Regional Support Group, as Sgt. Maj. Jessica Stiffarm formally relinquishes responsibility as the company First Sergeant to 1st Sgt. Keely Hamann.

During the ceremony, the passing of the sword symbolizes far more than a transfer of a physical object. It represents the transfer of authority, trust, and responsibility for the welfare, discipline, and readiness of the Soldiers within the formation. The sword stands as a reminder of the generations of leaders who upheld these same values—and of the sacred duty now entrusted to 1st Sgt. Hamann.

We thank Sgt. Maj. Stiffarm for her unwavering leadership and dedicated service to HHC, and we welcome 1st Sgt. Hamann as she steps into this vital role. Her experience, commitment, and example will continue to strengthen our Soldiers and our mission.

Please join us in congratulating both leaders as they begin their next chapter of service.
