Zanewood Community School STEAM Zanewood Community, A STEAM School is located in Brooklyn Park, Minnesota, and is a part of ISD 279 - Osseo Area Schools.

Zanewood serves a diverse student population with a rich mixture of cultural and ethnic backgrounds. Our school community has a strong focus on accelerating student achievement. Our primary academic goal is to have all students reading at or above grade level by the end of third grade and maintaining that level through the remainder of their school years. Extra funding from the State and Federal governments has enabled Zanewood to offer a variety of programs to meet the unique needs of their students. For example:

· Lower class sizes, grades Kindergarten through fifth grade
· Lower class sizes for 70-90 minute reading periods (average 14 students per teacher, grades 1-5)
· Small group and individual tutoring for reading and math
· Positive learning environment focused on schoolwide expectations of “Go for the GOLD”, character education, and “Getting Along” social skills instruction.
· Parent and community partnerships are emphasized including: volunteer programs, Family Nights, home reading, and extended day/year academic and recreation programs. The Zanewood Recreation Center is funded in collaboration with the City of Brooklyn Park. Zanewood Community School hosts Kidstop (before and after school care) program. Exciting hands-on learning at Zanwood this week! Our 1st graders enjoyed an interactive puppet show that brought science to life while teaching them all about animal adaptations, while our 3rd graders took a field trip to Mississippi Gateway Regional Park where they got to collect and examine crayfish up close to study aquatic ecosystems. To top it all off, we celebrated our weekly Panther Path ticket drawing winners for showing outstanding Panther Pride

Rain didn't stop the fun! 🌧️🤖

We had an incredible turnout with nearly 200 people joining us for our annual Engineering Night! Scholars of all ages got hands-on with robotics, engineering crafts, and electronics—plus enjoyed plenty of pizza and cookies. 🍕🍪

We need to give a shout out to the Park Center Pirate and Maple Grove Crimson robotics teams who showed up in a big way.
