💧 Water smart, water right: match your address to the day!
Brooklyn Park has odd/even lawn watering restrictions in effect May 1 through September 30, every year. Residents with even-numbered addresses may water on even-numbered days; odd-numbered addresses may water on odd-numbered days.
We recommend:
💧Water during the cool part of the day, early morning hours (4 am to 10 am) are best. Avoid the middle of the day when it is hot and sunny for less evaporation and for the water to soak deeper into the soil.
💧Water one inch per week (including rain) to maintain a healthy lawn.
💧Avoid peak water-use hours (4-10 p.m.). Do not water overnight, as it can promote disease and affect the health of your lawn.
💧A good soaking once or twice a week is better than watering every day. The soil should dry between watering to allow deep root growth, making the grass more drought tolerant.
Earn a $100 rebate by switching to a water-efficient irrigation system control. Information and a rebate application are on our website https://www.brooklynpark.org/housing/water-rebate/

Starting June 1, 2026 the Community Activity Center parking lot will be under construction and will close temporarily. The parking lot to the west of the the recreation center will be replaced. Additionally, a portion of the parking lot that sits southeast of the Community Activity Center main entrance will also be replaced.
The image below shows the parking lot closure, available parking spaces, walkways, and entrances. During the project, street parking on Edinbrook Terrace will be allowed.
There is also a temporary parking lot located to the north of the current parking lot across Edinbrook Terrace. During weekdays, this lot will be used by construction crews but will be open the public on nights and weekends.
Spaces nearest to the Community Activity Center main entrance will be reserved for our older adults program parking as well as handicap accessible parking.
The current walkways around the Community Activity Center will remain open.
The project is set to be complete by the week of August 7. We will share relevant updates on our social media pages and at https://ow.ly/Zpgo50Z5J8m
*Parking stalls may be closed during small periods of time to accommodate construction.
