Weather Update – Sea Gate, Brooklyn
A strong weather system is moving through the NYC area today bringing heavy rain, strong winds, and possible thunderstorms to Sea Gate and surrounding coastal communities.
🌧 Current Conditions
• Rain and possible thunderstorms
• Temperatures: Near 55–60°F this afternoon
• Sustained Winds: 20–25 mph
• Wind Gusts: Up to 40–47 mph possible, especially near the waterfront and open areas
• Visibility: Reduced at times due to rain and fog 
⚠️ Precautions & Safety Tips
• Secure garbage cans, patio furniture, decorations, and loose items that could blow into the roadway.
• Use extra caution when driving, especially near the Sea Gate waterfront and bridges.
• Watch for downed branches or debris in the roadway.
• Do not drive through flooded streets or large puddles.
• Stay clear of downed power lines and report hazards immediately.
• Expect strong crosswinds for pedestrians and cyclists.
🌬 Winds may shift later tonight and remain gusty, with occasional gusts approaching 45 mph before gradually improving. 
🚔 The Sea Gate Police Department Emergency Management Office is actively monitoring the storm and will provide updates if conditions worsen.
