New Date! Join the Gowanus Oversight Task Force on Thursday 8/7 for its quarterly public update meeting which will focus on sharing updates on all 56 City Commitments (Points of Agreement) and priorities moving forward. There will be time for questions and new Task Force members will be introduced.

We're ! Join our team as Landscape Director:
This role will oversee landscape management and advocacy towards the creation of a thriving, inclusive, biodiverse public realm in Gowanus. The Landscape Director leads our Horticulture Team including the management of street gardens, green infrastructure, trees, waterfront esplanades, parks, and operations at the Lowlands Nursery, GCC’s native plant nursery. This role also oversees planning and advocacy work for green and blue initiatives, including 18 acres of new public spaces in planning, design and construction by agencies and private property owners.

Please join the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency tomorrow, December 10, for a virtual meeting to update the community on the Combined Sewer Overflow (CSO) retention tank project (located at 270 Nevins Street) at the Gowanus Canal Superfund site. Don't miss the Gowanus Oversight Task Force meeting TONIGHT, November 14th, at PS 133! During this quarter's meeting, the Gowanus Business Improvement District Steering Committee will be giving its first public presentation on the formation of a BID in Gowanus. The Steering Committee, convened by Gowanus Canal Conservancy, has spent the past three years developing a proposal for a Gowanus BID that prioritizes the needs of local businesses and residents, advocates for a more resilient neighborhood, and creates and cares for thriving waterfronts, parks and streetscapes. The presentation will include details on the proposed services and costs of the BID, if formed.
There will also be updates relating to open space projects in Gowanus and presentations from the Departments of Small Business Services, City Planning, Parks and Recreation and Environmental Protection. Q & A will follow.
