Stuyvesant Heights The Stuyvesant Heights Historic District is an L-shaped area north of Fulton St. in Brooklyn, NY.

It comprises over 430 buildings located on thirteen city blocks, or parts thereof. Its approximate location is between Stuyvesant and Tompkins Avenues to the east and west, and Macon and Chauncey Streets to the north and south. September 14, 1971 is the day the historic district was officially designated.

This townhouse at 47 Chauncey Street dates back to 1867. The landmark single-family is one of the oldest row-houses in the Stuyvesant Heights Historic District.

This row of two-story homes was developed by Charles E. Larned, who had purchased the lots in 1867. He was a lawyer with an office at 202 Broadway in Manhattan. Mr. Larned sold the houses in 1870 to James Campbell, a broker located at 25 Wall St and also a Brooklyn resident. He made a small profit the very next year (1871) when he sold the homes to Thomas Prosser.

There's a 4-family home for sale on Decatur St for $1,995,000 and IMHO, the price is too low! Museum-level details, several working fireplaces, and much more... like over $11,000 per month in potential rental income!

House on Decatur St. sold for $1,650,000 and it needs at least $500,000 in rehab just to walk around safely. Plus around $300,000 for utilities, baths, kitchens, and general appearance!
