Power outages in Park Slope, Gowanus, and Boerum Hill.

Con Edison told us on a call that full restoration would be by 7 a.m. today, but that timeline has since changed. They are now estimating restoration by 7 p.m. this evening, and we have made clear that we do not expect it to take longer than that. We will keep you posted as we learn more.

If you need a warm place, you can find a nearby warming center here https://bit.ly/4tbW5Sn.

Today, Tuesday, November 4th, is Election Day, and it’s the last day to vote. Polls are open until 9 PM.

A few Election Day, but not electoral notes: (for students) and are closed. There will be no collections and Alternate Side Parking is suspended.

This year’s election includes Mayor, Comptroller, Public Advocate, Borough President, City Council, and District Attorney. You’ll also be voting on proposed Charter Changes to the city’s land use process, as well as when elections are held.

If you’re unsure where you vote, find your polling site at findmypollsite.vote.nyc.

Now that we’ve been given an extra hour, the question becomes, what will you do with it?

Use it to vote!

Today, Sunday, November 2, is the last day of early voting. Polls are open from 9:00 a.m. until 5:00 p.m. It shouldn’t take close to the entire extra hour, and when you’re done, you get a sticker.

On Monday we’ll vote YES on the Brooklyn Marine Terminal Vision Plan. After decades of neglect, this plan finally charts a future for our waterfront that reflects community priorities: housing, climate resilience, transportation, jobs, and accountability.

This is part 1 of a three-phase, fifteen-year process — a long-term commitment to shaping the future of Brooklyn’s waterfront.

Proud to stand alongside a coalition that made this possible:
• • • • Red Hook East & West, • • • •

We stood with Yorkers For Parks (thank you Kathy Park Price), , Council , Karen Blondel, Friends of Red Hook Pool, and many others to celebrate good news: the Red Hook Pool will reopen this Sunday, August 17, 2025, after months of being shut down.

“Late good news is still good news; especially when it comes at the result of collective community action like this. The Red Hook Pool, and all public pools, are great resources and we will continue to advocate for them not just that they open on time but they are open longer in both hours and days of the year.” —

🕒 Regular hours:
▪️ Session 1: 11 AM – 3 PM
▪️ Session 2: 4 PM – 7 PM

🏊‍♀️ Public pools are vital. We’ll keep pushing for expanded hours and seasons so more New Yorkers can access them.
