Warning to local parents about “Momo ***de Challenge.” Local police are warning families about a violent and disturbing challenge spreading across social media. It's called the "Momo su***de challenge" and it apparently encourages kids to take their own lives. It uses the world-wide messaging app called WhatsApp.

Reports said a user, under the name “Momo”, targets kids and tries to convince them to hurt themselves.

"Satanic. Hellish. Devilish,” said one Springfield WhatsApp user.

The game lurks in the darkest places on WhatsApp.
"That's really disturbing,” Springfield mother, Alexis Pierson, said.

The so-called "Momo challenge" started appearing all over the world in recent weeks and according to the Daily Mail, it seems to follow the same style every time it reaches out to someone. A user is asked to add “Momo" and soon after, the user gets a barrage of frightening messages encouraging violence or su***de.

When we heard that Fat Cardinal Provisions had donations that (by law) were going to be tossed out - we were happy to jump in - Each night when they call our volunteers pick up and then bring to families who can use some cheering up -

Marissa of works so hard with her group of volunteers to pick up food from local restaurants to get it to shelters and programs that serve Rockaway. Don’t throw it away! Local businesses if you’re interested in donating, dm us and we’ll connect you to Marissa.

Hit some bumps in the road and had to climb some mountains to make this years' Thanksgiving a reality. BUT WE DID IT! True group efforts and community partnerships make all of our events a huge success!
Donors, supporters, believers, family, friends and even some strangers! We put together a FREE Thanksgiving Lunch for the community.

On-site service began at 12 pm. And by 2 pm we were on the road to deliver food to families that could not get to us.

Thank you everyone who stepped up and helped us help others.

From cooking food, donating food, to set up, to store runs, to serving, to clean up, to sharing the event, to posting a flyer, to driving me around with my bullhorn loaner for the day! Shout out to Bungalow Bar, Cuisine by Claudette, Kennedy's Restaurant Fat Cardinal Provisions for donating food!!! (Along with so many locals who prepped at home and brought in - I will update that list very shortly!)
