master Peruvian percussionist, Jereto
and bassist, Matt Geraghty!

Immerse yourself in the intricate dance rhythms and music of Peru during our engaging workshops.

Participants will have the opportunity to learn the basic dance steps of Afro-Peruvian musical styles such as festejo, landó and atajo de negritos. But that's not all! We will also present a fascinating demonstration of unique Afro-Peruvian instruments that have endured through generations and play a fundamental role in Peruvian music, such as the quijada, cajita, and cajón.

Come together to embrace the richness of Afro-Peruvian heritage and experience the vibrant fusion of cultures. Get ready for a journey to the heart of Peru's musical traditions!

Raiding the Kings Highway art supplies for today’s Coloring Party program! Come to the library today from 3-4 pm to receive your DJ Pigeon canvas tote bag (your Summer @ BPL prize!) and stay to decorate it with fabric markers, puff paint, sequins, feathers, decals and more!

🌸 Making “plantable” paper with wildflower seeds at the library today. After the paper dries, kids can plant their paper card in their garden or a flower pot and grow some beautiful flowers 🌹💐🌸🌺🌷🌻🥀🌼
