The Rainbow Gavel is passed, in a historic ceremony for our community - Hon. Norma Jean Jennings is sworn in as the first out Q***r Black Woman Justice of the New York State Supreme Court alongside her wife, Hon Juliet Howard, recently sworn in as a judge of the Civil Court, Kings County, and their sons. It's a new year, and Lambda Independent Democrats would like to introduce you all to Stephanie Fox, LID's new president! With midterms this year and the federal government taking a hatchet to LGBTQIA+ rights, we have our work cut out for us, and we are so excited to have our new board, and most importantly, YOU behind us!

The U.S. Supreme Court will soon hear two cases that will shape the future of transgender people in this country: West Virginia v. B.P.J. and Little v. Hecox.

Tomorrow, Saturday, January 10 at 1pm at Union Square LID is joining PFLAG NYC, The NEW Pride Agenda, and Trans formative Schools and dozens of co-hosting and endorsing organizations to show our city and the world that we are strong, United, and full of love for our community.
