Last week, our 7th and 8th graders enjoyed our walking field trip to the Fayette Flyers’ RC Field. Thank you, Mrs. Garner for arranging our time with the very knowledgeable club leaders. We learned about the history of flight, the design of airplanes, how remote control planes work, etc. If your student is interested in learning more and possibly becoming a member of Fayette Flyers, please follow the link to learn about youth or family membership to the club.

I've attached the pictures below. I used Layout but I'm not sure how great they turned out!

Ms. Fangmeyer’s students explored American history to honor the lasting legacy of Black cowboys. After researching iconic figures like Nat Love, Bill Pickett, and Bose Ikard, the class examined a central question: How did Black cowboys shape early America, and why does their legacy matter today? Through collaborative research, students investigated the discrimination these men faced, how they persevered, and why restoring their contributions to historical narratives remains crucial today.

4th grade students in Mrs. Mullis’s Math class, presented mini PBL projects last week. They were tasked with designing a new playground for LTCS with a budget of $100,000. The students had to research different commercial playground companies to get price comparisons, complete an expenditure sheet with all calculations of funds spent and any remaining balances, and complete a drawing/blueprint with labels of playground structures and prices. Many groups also went above and beyond project requirements and completed a Canva or Google Slides presentation as well as a 3D model of part or all of their playground design. Students presented their projects to Mr. Eller’s 5th grade class, Mrs. Veronica, Mr. Alexander, Ms. Tyburski, and Ms. Clay. Student guests provided the presenters with peer feedback forms and staff guests provided presenters with Glow and Grow feedback forms. These students have definitely learned a lot about place value to the 100,000 place and applied it to a real-world problem.

🎭 Big news for Liberty Tech’s performing arts! 🎭

We are thrilled to partner with the renowned Alliance Theatre through their JumpStart Theatre Program, provided by the Educational Theatre Foundation! This multi-year collaboration brings professional theater mentorship, training, and resources directly to Liberty Tech Charter School—empowering our scholars to build a thriving, sustainable drama department from the ground up. This year, our students will be performing some of Dr. Seuss's most well-known works in Seussical Jr.

Get ready to watch our talented young artists take center stage! ✨🎬
