Then ➡️ Now. ❤️

Back in August, the crew at Station 64 helped welcome this little one into the world. Today, they got to see her again—this time with a little more hair, a little more personality and a whole lot of love.

We’re so glad this sweet family stopped by to say hello and give our crew the chance to see just how much she’s grown!

75% of our calls are medical in nature, which means our firefighters need to be just as prepared for a medical emergency as they are for a fire.

Our crews regularly train on medical skills and scenarios to stay sharp, build confidence and deliver the best care possible in those critical first moments.

Training today. Ready for you tomorrow.

The topics have changed a little over the years.

Nowadays, conversations between these folks are more likely to include grandkids, golf swings, road trips and upcoming weddings than the latest call.

But the camaraderie? That hasn’t changed.

At our latest retiree breakfast, we caught up with old friends, shared stories and gave an update on what’s happening at North Metro Fire.

We’re grateful for the people who helped build this organization and for the opportunity to keep them connected to the North Metro Fire family.

A fireplace can bring an element of coziness to your home, but it's important to use it safely.

At approximately 3:10 a.m. today (Oct. 13), North Metro Fire responded to a residential structure fire near Ura Lane and W. 104th Place in Northglenn.

Upon arrival, firefighters worked quickly to bring the fire under control and search the home. Sadly, several cats died in the fire. No other injuries were reported. One resident was displaced.

Following an investigation, North Metro Fire determined the fire originated from a wood-burning fireplace.

As temperatures drop and wood-burning stoves and fireplaces see more use, we want to remind our community of three important safety precautions:

🔥 Use a screen or glass doors. These protective barriers help prevent hot embers and sparks from escaping your fireplace and igniting nearby combustibles.

🔥 Never leave a burning fire unattended. Fully extinguish the fire before leaving the room or going to bed. Hot embers can remain a fire hazard even when flames appear to have died down.

🔥 Have your wood-burning stove, fireplace and chimney inspected before using them. Never use any damaged wood-burning appliance or one with missing or non-functional safety barriers. Make sure screens and glass doors are functioning properly and that your chimney is safe to use before lighting a fire.

Thank you to City of Thornton Fire Department, Westminster Fire Department and Northglenn Police Department for assistance on scene.

Always learning. Always improving.

Some of our North Metro firefighters recently attended the Mile High Firefighters Conference, connecting with fellow firefighters and learning from others in the fire service.

We’re grateful for opportunities like these to grow and bring new knowledge back to our crews and our community.
