October is Domestic Violence Awareness Month. ๐ This month, the Broomfield Police Departmentโs Victim Services Unit wears purple to stand with survivors, raise awareness and reaffirm our commitment to supporting victims of domestic violence.
When someone finds the courage to reach out for help, the first few hoursโand the days that followโcan be pivotal. Safety is our number-one priority. Our Victim Services Unit works alongside officers 24 hours a day, seven days a week, to help victims safety-plan, address immediate needs, and connect with resources and support.
But our work goes beyond responding to a crisis. We listen. We meet victims where they are. We provide options, respect their choices, and work at their pace while moving as quickly as necessary to help keep them safe.
Through strong partnerships with local agencies and community organizations, we work to ensure victims don't have to navigate the system alone. From immediate safety needs to long-term housing, advocacy and support, we are committed to making connections, finding solutions and helping survivors take their next steps toward safety and healing.
That is the Broomfield difference. It is our partnerships, our commitment and our willingness to find a way. Above all, it is our promise that when someone in our community reaches out for help, they will know we are hereโand that they do not have to face it alone.
This Domestic Violence Awareness Month, we stand with survivors, honor their strength and remind our community that help is available. ๐
