Guyleen for Broomfield Mayor Mayor of the City and County of Broomfield That's why I decided to run for City Council in 2017 and now for Mayor. Let's unite and do this together!

I believe we are put on this earth to help one another, so being of service to my community and taking action to improve the lives of others comes very naturally to me. Broomfield is growing quickly and we need courageous leaders that welcome diversity and foster inclusivity.

TJ Klune wanted to write a book about hope.

“I wanted to write a story that reminded me of the cozy fantasies I read as a kid, books that not only made me happy, but allowed me to believe everything could be okay. Hope can often seem like it’s in short supply these days, and while a novel like ‘The House in the Cerulean Sea’ won’t fix the world’s problems, I hope it can at least serve as a small reminder that we are capable of so much when we stand for what we believe in and lift each other up,” Klune said to the American Library Association.

Discover coziness and hope during Klune’s One Book One Broomfield author talk on Thursday, Nov. 5. Join a matinee talk at 2 p.m. or an evening talk at 7 p.m., both including a Q&A and book signing. Don’t miss this opportunity to engage with an award-winning author and a thought-provoking story! Learn more at Broomfield.org/OneBook.

At the Oct. 13 meeting, the Broomfield Council designated October 2026 as National Arts and Humanities Month.

Investing in the arts and humanities serves as a proven driver of both local economic prosperity and civic well-being. Broomfield’s participation in the Scientific and Cultural Facilities District (SCFD) has resulted in more than $4 million for Broomfield arts and humanities projects and organizations over the last 25 years, supplemented by CCOB’s dedicated annual grant program for programs not eligible for SCFD funding.

This month-long, nationwide celebration recognizes the vital role that creative and historical expression plays in shaping thriving, connected communities.
