IMPORTANT MEMBERSHIP UPDATE
Brothers and Sisters,
I am pleased to share that the Judge has granted our request for a preliminary injunction regarding the termination of our collective bargaining agreement. This is an important development in our ongoing fight to protect our rights and our contract. This is what we have been patiently waiting for!
We do anticipate the agency will request a stay of the order, and should know more by tomorrow.
Based on the language of the Court’s order, it appears that the agency is being directed to reinstate the collective bargaining agreement effective immediately. However, there are still several important questions that the order does not specifically address.
Until we receive clear direction from the agency regarding the restoration of official time, if you are scheduled to report for duty, you should report to work as scheduled. Do not assume that official time has been restored until we receive specific notification and instructions.
We also fully expect that the agency and the Department of Justice will likely seek a stay of the Judge’s order. We should have more information regarding that tomorrow.
I will be holding a National Zoom meeting with our Local Presidents tomorrow so that we can discuss the order, what it means for our membership, the anticipated next steps, and any additional guidance we receive.
Please remain patient and, most importantly, do not make assumptions or take individual action based on information circulating on social media or through unofficial channels. I will provide you with accurate information as soon as it becomes available.
This is an important step forward, but our fight is not over. We will continue to keep you informed as this process moves forward.
Stay united. Stay informed. Stay strong.
In Solidarity,
