🚒 Fire Prevention Week – Day #2! 🔥
Brownstown Fire Rescue is continuing our Fire Prevention Week activities today at Brownstown Elementary School, where we’ll have the opportunity to share important fire safety information with approximately 355 students!
This year’s theme is “Charge Into Fire Safety.” With more devices and battery-powered products in our homes than ever before, it’s important that children and adults understand the potential fire hazards associated with charging.
🔋 Charging Safety Tips:
Use only the charging cord and adapter designed for your device.
Charge devices on a hard, non-flammable surface—never on a bed, couch, or other soft surface.
Unplug devices once they are fully charged.
Charge larger lithium-ion battery devices outdoors in a safe location, away from buildings, exits, and combustible materials.
Never use a battery, charger, or cord that is damaged, swollen, or showing signs of overheating.
Brownstown Fire Rescue is proud to continue investing in fire prevention and education in our community. Teaching fire safety today helps create safer families and a safer community tomorrow!

Our department takes great pride in providing a comprehensive fire prevention program designed to educate children and community members about the importance of fire safety, prevention, and emergency preparedness.
We are grateful for the opportunity to work with our local schools and childcare organizations to help promote fire safety and protect our community.
If your school, daycare, organization, or community group would like to participate in our Fire Prevention Program, please reach out to Brownstown Fire Rescue. We would be honored to visit your organization and provide valuable fire safety education.
