Banned Book Week October 4 - 10.

Banned Books Week is an annual awareness campaign promoted by the American Library Association that celebrates the freedom to read and draws attention to banned and challenged books. This year's theme is "Let Books Be. Protect the Freedom to Read.”

The American Library Association (ALA) Office for Intellectual Freedom (OIF) tracked 4,235 unique titles challenged in 2025, the second highest ever documented by ALA.

5,668 books were banned from libraries (66% of the total challenged) in 2025.

Do you use Libby?

Starting on Monday, October 5, you’ll have to enter both your library card number and PIN to access ebooks, audiobooks, and digital magazines from OverDrive with the Libby app or the Wisconsin’s Digital Library site. This will be the same PIN you use to log into the MORE Catalog and MORE Libraries app.

Here’s what you need to know.

You’ll be asked to verify your library card number and PIN

This may happen when you open Libby, check out an item, or place a hold

Have your library card number and PIN handy

Forgot your PIN? Instructions for resetting your PIN are in the Help section of the MORE online catalog, or reach out to your local library for help.
