Soap Box Derby Race for special needs children and adults on Sunday May 31, 2026 9Am to 1PM.
● We are currently looking for racers ages 7-18 years old and under 150lbs. who are differently abled.
● The event will take place at our Cleveland Soap Box Derby Track Route 2 Westbound Exit 49th. Street near downtown Cleveland.
● We ask racers and families to arrive at 9:30am with racing to begin at approximately 10am.
● This event is ☆FREE ☆ and lunch will be provided to all racers and family!!!
●All racers will be paired up with an experienced Co-Pilot and will race in our specially designed dual controlled cars. 1st and 2nd place winners will move on to represent Cleveland in the National Super Kids CHAMPIONSHIP race held in Akron Ohio this July during the First Energy All American Soap Box Derby World Championship Race!!!
We are excitedly awaiting giving the "Thrill of the Hill" to our special differently abled kids who otherwise would not be able to race!!!

OPTIMIST CLUB RESPECT FOR LAW ENFORCEMENT CEREMONY
Ptl. Ted Makrinos and K9 Ajgo was presented with the 2025 Officer Of The Year Award from the Optimist Club of Brunswick. Ptl. Makrinos and his Partner Ajgo were selected for their outstanding dedication and commitment to the Brunswick Hills community.

April is Child Abuse Prevention Month. The Brunswick Hills Police along with SRO Dressler, placed pinwheels at our station near the flagpole as a reminder of our shared commitment to safe and supported childhoods.

Marks Road is closed between Bringham Drive and Innovation Drive for a power pole in the roadway. FD and Ohio Edison are on scene. We are not sure how long it will be closed! Please detour the area!

BHPD has been made aware of the FAKE DOOR hangers on bright orange or green cards with URGENT on them asking you to call immediately. They are now being spread around the TOWNSHIP. This SCAM is going all over Northeast Ohio where the scammers are requesting your personal information. DO NOT FALL FOR THE SCAM AND GIVE THEM ANY INFORMAION OVER THE PHONE.
Contact BHPD if you have been scammed or have any ring camera videos of the individuals hanging the FAKE hangers.
CAUTION on taking the bait on some of their other types of scams.
-Being asked to wire money to a stranger or friend in need
-Being selected for a mystery shopping job, especially if you never applied
-Payments to avoid Repo
-Pressure to “act now!”
-Being asked to buy a prepaid money card
-Sending money in advance to secure or insure a loan
-Winning a contest you’ve never heard of or entered
-Having to pay a fee to receive your “prize”
-Requests for your personal information
-Requests for a large down-payment
-A company that refuses to provide written information
Individuals in Ohio who suspect a scam can report their concerns to the Ohio Attorney General’s Office through www.OhioProtects.org or by calling 800-282-0515.
