When people think of food pantry food, they don't usually picture homemade focaccia.
This loaf started with ingredients I received from a local food pantry:
๐ฟ Basil pizza dough๏ฟฝ๐
Vegetarian pizza topping kit๏ฟฝ๐ง Parmesan cheeze๏ฟฝ๐ซ Oil
I added a little jarlic from Dollar Tree and some rosemary I already had on hand, then transformed those simple ingredients into this golden, crispy focaccia.
One thing I've learned is that food pantry ingredients don't have to be used exactly as intended. Sometimes a little creativity can turn everyday items into something that looks and tastes special.
Food pantry food isn't about "getting by." It's about making the most of what's available, learning new skills, and creating something delicious from simple ingredients.
What's the most creative thing you've made from pantry staples?
