🚨 K9 LOKI ASSISTS OFFICERS IN LOCATING FLEEING SUSPECT 🐕‍🦺👮‍♂️

On August 9, 2026, Officers from patrol responded to the area of Highway 17 and Shipyard Drive (Liberty Ship Park area)after receiving a report of two males walking from a warehouse area carrying what appeared to be copper.

Upon arrival, officers located a white van parked near the warehouse, which is located on private property. The vehicle was occupied by two males. One of the males exited the vehicle and immediately fled on foot into the warehouse area and wooded area.

Officers gave the suspect verbal commands to stop, but he refused to comply and continued fleeing. Officers quickly established a perimeter and requested assistance from a K9 team.

Lt. Hurst responded to the scene with his K9 partner, Loki. 🐕‍🦺

K9 Loki was deployed from the suspect’s last known location near the entrance to the warehouse. Placed in his tracking harness, Loki was directed to search the area. Loki successfully tracked the suspect approximately 248 yards from the location where he was last observed running.

The suspect was located hiding in a wooded area behind a large bush.

The suspect was taken into custody without incident.

👏 Outstanding work by the responding officers and K9 team! This incident is another great example of the value of a well-trained K9 team and the importance of teamwork, containment, and professional police response.

🐕‍🦺 Great job, Lt. Hurst & K9 Loki!

The Brunswick Police K-9 Team would like to express our heartfelt prayers for K-9 Ace as he fights for his life after courageously protecting law enforcement officers during the arrest of an armed individual yesterday in Polk County, Florida.

Ace’s bravery and unwavering loyalty are a powerful reminder of the sacrifices our K-9 partners make every day to keep their handlers and our communities safe. They are not just police dogs—they are family, partners, and heroes.

We are praying for Ace’s full recovery and extend our sincere gratitude to the veterinary staff, EMS personnel, and the Life Flight team who worked tirelessly to provide emergency care for both Deputy Sheriff K-9 Ace and those involved.

Our thoughts and prayers are especially with Ace’s handler during this incredibly difficult time.

With heavy hearts, we extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to the men and women of the Glynn County Police Department, especially Sgt. Duggan, on the loss of his loyal K9 partner, Chief.

The bond between a K9 officer and their handler is unlike any other. It is built on trust, dedication, courage, and countless hours spent serving and protecting the community side by side. Chief was more than a police dog—he was a faithful partner, a protector, and a valued member of the law enforcement family.

Today, we honor Chief’s service, loyalty, and sacrifice. We pray for comfort and strength for Sgt. Duggan, his family, and the entire department as they mourn this tremendous loss.

K9 Loki had a check-up at the vet today and quickly made himself at home. 🐾 While waiting for the doctor, he found a brand new dog bed and decided it was the perfect place to lounge and relax. Safe to say Loki approved of the vet’s accommodations. 😂🐕 🚔
