Brush High School Drama Club is proud to present "The Brightest Thing (Or, the Squonk Play)" by Don Zolidis on Friday, November 6, 2026 and Saturday, November 7, 2026.

When life takes an unexpected turn, a young girl named Emelia goes on an epic adventure across America to rescue her mother from the dreaded snow pirates. Taking to the skies in an eccentric Balloonist’s hot-air balloon, Emelia’s quest will take her to the forests of Pennsylvania, the Florida beaches, the plains of South Dakota, and the Rocky Mountains of Colorado. Along the way, she crosses paths with a bizarre group of characters, including the Big Fairy, the Squonk, and more. "The Brightest Thing (Or, The Squonk Play)" by Don Zolidia is an American fable exploring love, loss, and discovering self-worth in the unlikeliest of places.

We hope Morgan County will join BHS Drama Club for this fantastical, family-friendly adventure on Friday, November 6 at 7:00 pm and Saturday, November 7 at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm. Tickets are $7 for general admissions and $5 for senior citizens, non-BHS students, BSD staff, and veterans. Current Brush High School students can get in free with their student IDs.

Our journey to the past has officially come to a close.

"Anastasia" was truly a one-of-a-kind experience for our students and community. From rehearsals to crew meetings, our Beetdiggers gave it their all. The result was nothing short of magic. We are so proud of their growth and dedication. They proved that it means more to be a Beetdigger!

To our community: thank you. You turned out in full force. Thank you to every person who support our drama students and the arts in Brush School District.

Home, love, family. That's a wrap on "Anastasia." We cannot wait to show you what's next.

Join us at Brush High School for opening night of "Anastasia!" The performance begins at 7:00 pm and doors open at 6:00 pm. If you can't make it tonight, join us tomorrow, April 18 at 2:00 pm and 7:00 pm.

🎭Our student performers have put in months of work. They pushed themselves to their limits and supported each other like all Beetdiggers do. Come cheer them on like you would any athlete. Bring your family, bring your friends, wear school colors! Because supporting the arts isn't just fun - it's necessary.
