🎉 What a FUN evening at our very first National Night Out! 🚔🚒

We had such a wonderful turnout and loved welcoming first responders, elected officials, representatives from city and county offices, and, most importantly, so many of our neighbors from the surrounding community. ❤️

National Night Out is all about getting to know your neighbors, building relationships, sharing concerns, hearing what’s happening in our community, and finding common ground that brings us together. And that’s exactly what we got to do!

There were plenty of stories, lots of laughter, great food, and so many opportunities to connect. The police cars were definitely a hit, but we have to say… the fire truck may have stolen the show! 🚒🔥

We’re so grateful to everyone who came out, brought something to share, stopped by to visit, or simply helped make the evening special. A HUGE thank-you to everyone who pitched in with setup and cleanup, brought snacks, lent a helping hand, or helped spread the word. Every bit of it was appreciated!

It was an incredible first year, and we hope this is just the beginning of a new annual tradition for our neighborhood. 🏡💙

Thank you for showing up, showing support, and showing what happens when neighbors come together! We can’t wait to do it again! 🎉

🔍 Behind the Scenes: How Our Digital Forensics Unit Protects Brazos County AND Saves Taxpayers over $300,000 a Year.

From processing millions of pieces of digital evidence to extracting critical data from cell phones and creating visualized data for juries, the Brazos County District Attorney’s Office Digital Forensics Unit (DFU) plays a vital role in modern prosecution.

💰 Protecting Taxpayer Dollars:

By handling these complex computer and mobile device extractions in-house, our Digital Forensics Unit saves Brazos County taxpayers an estimated over $300,000 every year compared to the high cost of outsourcing devices to private forensic vendors.
As technology evolves, so do criminal investigations. Our team—Kenneth Sikes, Jonathan Eisenrich, and Britain Thomas—combines advanced cyber security, law enforcement experience, and data visualization to ensure digital evidence is properly preserved, analyzed, and clearly presented in court.

Here is a look at the credentials powering this unit:

1️⃣ Kenneth Sikes | B.S. Cyber Security & Networking | TCOLE Peace Officer | MCFE | Cellebrite CCO/CCPA | Axon Examiner | U.S. Secret Service NCFI Trained
2️⃣ Jonathan Eisenrich | B.S. Cyber Security | Axon Advisory Board Member | Cellebrite CCO/CCPA | Axon Examiner | U.S. Secret Service NCFI Trained
3️⃣ Britain Thomas | M.S. Visualization | 3D Graphics & Data Viz Expert | Digital Twin Developer | Custom Tool Programmer

Whether extracting vital timelines from encrypted devices or designing intuitive data visualizations that make complex evidence easy for a jury to understand, this team keeps our office at the forefront of technology while remaining responsible stewards of public funds. Thank you to Kenneth, Jonathan, and Britain for their technical excellence and dedication to justice in Brazos County! ⚖️💻

Recently, Investigative Assistant Britain Thomas presented to Texas A&M's Women in Animation event, "Visualization in Law," to discuss how their backgrounds in visualization and animation prepared them for careers in law enforcement and criminal justice.

Prior to working in our office, Britain previously worked in 3D modeling, lighting, shader development (creating the rules that control how a 3D surface looks, such as its color, texture, reflectivity, and response to light), tool development, and data visualization, Britain, along with Bryan Police's Ethan Umanos, discussed creating digital twins, or accurate digital representations of real evidence, to transform difficult-to-read forensic data—such as cell phones and computers—into clear courtroom presentations that jurors can understand.

Experience that Britain & Ethan bring to criminal justice help law enforcement and our office stay at the leading edge of technology in difficult cases.
