💜 𝐋𝐞𝐭’𝐬 𝐓𝐮𝐫𝐧 𝐭𝐡𝐞 𝐁𝐫𝐚𝐳𝐨𝐬 𝐕𝐚𝐥𝐥𝐞𝐲 𝐅𝐚𝐢𝐫 & 𝐑𝐨𝐝𝐞𝐨 𝐏𝐔𝐑𝐏𝐋𝐄! 💜

In 2025, more than 240,000 family violence offenses were reported in Texas. Behind every one of those numbers are individuals and families whose lives have been impacted by domestic violence.

This Sunday, October 25, the Brazos County Sheriff’s Office is proud to join the Man Up Crusade, Brazos Valley Fair & Rodeo, and Twin City Mission for Purple Night at the Fair!

💜 We invite our community to wear purple, bring your family, and join us for an evening of raising awareness, supporting survivors, and standing together against domestic violence.

Funds raised will benefit Twin City Mission, which provides vital services to survivors right here in the Brazos Valley.

Let’s fill the fairgrounds with purple and send a powerful message: Survivors are not alone, and our community stands with them! 💜

A HUGE thank you to the Young Men’s Service League!

We are incredibly grateful to the Young Men’s Service League for selecting Twin City Mission as the recipient of their annual Ultimate Gift! Over four days, these amazing young men and their Moms dedicated countless hours to completely redoing the landscaping at our Doug Weedon Shelter for Hope.

Thanks to their hard work and the generosity of our community partners, our shelter entrance has been transformed and looks like a whole new place! 🌱

A special thank you to our anonymous local donor for generously donating the plants. Circle D Nurseries and Excel Landscaping and Lawncare for donating the black mulch that helped bring this project to life.

We are so thankful for the time, talent, and generosity that went into making this transformation possible. Your investment in our shelter creates a more welcoming environment for the individuals and families we serve every day.

Thank you, Young Men’s Service League, for making Twin City Mission your Ultimate Gift and for showing what can happen when a community comes together to make a difference!

Your support makes new beginnings possible!

This Brazos Valley Gives, we’re sharing the story of a mother and her three children who came to Phoebe’s Home, Twin City Mission’s Domestic Violence Shelter, seeking safety after experiencing abuse. Originally from another country, she had no established support system in our community and had been forced to put her professional dreams on hold.

When the family arrived, the prolonged trauma had taken a significant toll on her well-being. With compassionate care and individualized support, Phoebe’s Home helped her begin rebuilding her life. Through counseling, child care assistance, legal advocacy, and connections to essential resources, the family received the support they needed to move forward.

After four months at Phoebe’s Home, she and her children were ready for a fresh start in another state. With help from generous donors, the family received transportation to the airport to begin their journey toward a safer future.

Today, she has begun her medical residency, and her children are settling into their new schools and community. Most importantly, they have the opportunity to heal and build a life with greater peace, stability, and safety.

Reflecting on their experience, she shared that Phoebe’s Home had become her family and had saved them.

This is what your generosity makes possible. Your support through Brazos Valley Gives helps Twin City Mission provide safety, advocacy, and hope to families facing some of life’s most difficult circumstances.

Give hope. Change lives. Support Twin City Mission through Brazos Valley Gives!

Domestic Violence Awareness Month 💜

Everyone deserves to live free from fear, abuse, and violence. Twin City Mission wants survivors to know that you are not alone, and support is available at no cost.

💜 How We Help:

💜 Emergency Shelter: Phoebe’s Home is our 24-hour emergency shelter for survivors and their children, providing a safe place to stay, nutritious meals, laundry facilities, clothing, toiletries, transportation, and recreational activities.

💜 Counseling & Case Management: Individualized support to help survivors navigate challenges, heal, and work toward independence.

💜 Safety Planning: Personalized plans to help survivors explore their options and take steps toward a safer future.

💜 Legal Advocacy: Assistance navigating legal resources and understanding available options.

💜 Career Assistance: Support to help survivors pursue employment and build financial independence.

Not everyone needs emergency shelter, nonresidential services are also available at no cost to survivors.

Safety. Support. Hope. Healing. Together, we can raise awareness, break the silence, and remind survivors that help is available.
