BMU's Power Plant crew has received a Safety Award in Generation from American Municipal Power (AMP) for recording ZERO lost workdays due to reportable accidents in electric generation.

These guys work with some serious equipment, and they've got the skills, experience and teamwork to do it safely.

That's our crew, Bryan. Show them some love!

We’re proud of our Electric Department for receiving a Mutual Aid Commendation at the American Municipal Power (AMP) Annual Conference!

See that gold plaque Kevin's holding in the middle of the photo? That's an AMP Safety Award, earned by our Electric Transmission crew for ZERO workdays lost due to reportable accidents. Not one! Now THAT deserves some recognition, too!

The award recognizes our crews for assisting fellow public power communities in Celina and Cuyahoga Falls, Ohio; Easley, South Carolina; and Hillsdale, Michigan.

That’s public power at its best — communities helping communities. Congratulations to our crews!

We're proud of our people!

Congratulations to BMU's Electric Transmission and Power Generation crews on receiving safety recognition from American Municipal Power (AMP)!

The work these teams do every day requires tremendous skill, teamwork and a commitment to looking out for one another. We're proud of their accomplishments and especially proud of the importance they place on working safely.

Please join us in congratulating both crews on this well-deserved recognition!

5th Grade Solar Engineers! - We love what the Ohio Energy Project is doing to help students better understand power generation and solar technology. Knowledge really is power!

Experiment first, then present. These guys crushed their solar lesson!

SOLAR SUCCESS! These 5th Graders had everything connected and running in just a few minutes! Great work, girls!

Bryan Elementary! Big ideas. Little solar engineers. Real-time discoveries!
Sometimes the best way to see learning happen is to just watch it happen.

We spent part of this morning with Bryan students as they explored solar energy, experimented with circuits and worked through the challenges of making things work.

And we took you along!

Here's an unedited look inside the classroom — complete with curious questions, hands-on discoveries, a little trial and error, and the kind of excitement that happens when kids figure something out for themselves.

Bryan students are helping pilot a new Solar STEM curriculum developed by Ohio Energy Project, with support from Madison Energy and a real-world connection to a solar project being developed locally with Eitri Foundry. Under a 30-year agreement, BMU will be the sole purchaser of electricity generated by the new solar array, connecting the project directly to Bryan's locally owned electric system

We know 17 minutes is a long video for Facebook, but we thought parents, grandparents, teachers and anyone who enjoys seeing kids learn might appreciate this little window into their day.

No fancy production. Just learning, as it happened.
