Nothing like fire prevention week presentation to give a good distraction so IVFA district chairman Mikey Armstrong could award Mr. Dues the MacQueen Excellence Award through the Indiana Volunteer Firefighters Association! Glad we could help and be present for it. Mr. Dues is a well deserving recipient of this award, as all who know him or had him in class can attest to.

Thank you to Portland Fire Dept for hosting this excellent and very informational training. A lot of training is geared towards our physical skills and abilities but we also have to increase our knowledge of the trade and this training supplied that. It was a deeper dive into the science of how a fire burns and how to better fight those fires and avoid making them worse with the wrong actions. Be sure to check the comments in Portlands post to see the videos demonstrating a dust explosion and a backdraft scenario.

We’ve been graciously donated a rescue boat by The Porter Family Foundation!
What started as small talk about boats at a wedding almost a year ago between Captain Josh Kimmel and Joe May, who is a supervisor at Formula Boats, turned into an amazing addition to our fleet! Joe took it upon himself to see what Formula Boat and The Porter Family Foundation could do to help us out, and they did more than we could ask for.
Water rescue is something that does not happen all the time but does occur in our area, prompting us to request mutual aid from Portland FD or Geneva FD for their rescue boat. We now have the capability to respond quicker with the needed equipment.
We are very thankful for this new piece of equipment and the people involved to make it happen!
The Porter Family Foundation for being very generous in donating the inflatable rescue boat, motor, and trailer.
Joe May for bringing it to the attention of the Porter Family to ultimately consider this donation and figuring out what we would want.
Captain Josh Kimmel and Firefighter Austin May in helping coordinate conversation between Joe May and the Bryant FD.
Firefighter Jacob Hilty, employee of Formula Boat, in helping put the boat together at Formula Boat and helping get our feet wet, or hopefully mostly dry, with understanding operation and care of this new equipment.

We remember 25 years ago today. A lot has happened in a quarter of a century but we still remember the sacrifices made to help others.
343 FDNY firefighters
37 PAPD officers
23 NYPD officers
8 EMS personnel
1 NY fire patrolman
412 emergency personnel died that day and more have died from the after effects from working at the scene since then. We thank them for their sacrifice for doing what they would just call doing their job.

When the call comes in, having the right equipment can make all the difference.
The Bryant Fire Department would like to express our appreciation to Fear Powersports and Polaris Off Road for donating a generator to our department. This generous contribution will help us better serve our community during emergencies and disasters.
The generator will provide power for emergency lighting at nighttime incidents, support rescue operations, power lighting and other equipment at fire scenes, assist during extended storm-related power outages, and help keep critical equipment running when and where it is needed most.
We are fortunate to have community partners who recognize the importance of supporting volunteer fire departments. Your generosity helps us continue our mission of protecting lives and property.
Thank you, Fear Powersports and Polaris, for your outstanding support of Bryant Fire Department and the community we proudly serve!
