Thank you to Target for your generosity!

Thanks to the donation given to us by Target, we have the ability to assist kids in need through funding around 36 "We've Got Your Back" backpacks!

Team Target has been dedicated to uplifting thousands of communities by transforming community spaces to hosting Special Olympics and dedicating time to St. Jude's Children's Hospital. We are honored that they have taken the time to help out the GCH community!

It’s almost time for Halloween, what will you wear to show off your spooky spirit? 🎃👻

This Friday, we are encouraging our volunteers to come dressed in their best costumes! From accessories to full outfits, come ready 💚

Sign up to volunteer for our Friday Distribution before Halloween! We have two opportunities every Friday: traffic and distribution! Traffic volunteer shifts start at 7:30 AM and end at 11 AM. These volunteers help us make sure traffic flows smoothly and helps us keep track of how many families come through our doors! Distribution volunteering shifts start at 8 AM and ends at 12 PM. These volunteers help us get the food out to the families that visit us!

If you’d like to get involved, check out our website at www.givingchildrenhope.org/volunteer

Halloween is soon approaching. We know the kiddoes love getting into the spirit by dressing up and going door-to-door to get some delicious candy 🍬

Our mission here at GCH is to break the cycle of need within the community. We also know that this is a long process and support can come in many ways. Here at Giving Children Hope, not only do we donate many necessities from food to houseware, but we also are grateful to be able to give things that spark joy in the kids!

“We were able to distribute costumes, clothes and house wares to families through back to schools events for our students in Santa Ana. Back to school events were held throughout the district. Families were encouraged to participate. We were able to provide clothes and other materials purchased in the schools. One of our families had lost two daughters in a car accident. We were able to provide mom and children with DISNEY hats, toys, diapers and wipes and well as hygiene and home supplies. Mom was so grateful for the support provided- family had been so sad with their loss and the two year old and 5 year old were so happy and it brought much joy to the family to see the kids happy.”

Ready to get into the Halloween spirit? 🎃

If you're volunteering with us next week on October 30th, feel free to dress up in your best costume! Last year, some of our volunteers got super creative with what they wore, some even coordinated. Try to one up them by wearing your most creative costume 💚

Remember, we have Friday volunteering opportunities every week! We have two opportunities: traffic and active distribution. Traffic volunteer shifts are from 7:30 AM to 11 AM! These volunteers help us keep traffic organized and keep track of how many families we are serving that day. Distribution volunteer shifts last from 8 AM to 12 PM! These volunteers help us give out the food to both the drive-up participants and our walk ins.

Happy Thursday! Today, we would like to introduce two volunteers that have been with the GCH community for over a decade: Connie and Greg!

We are so thankful to have had their involvement for many years, from donations to volunteering. When asked about how they heard about us and what keeps them coming back, their answer was simple:

"It's important to keep giving it forward and doing what you can. Some people can donate money, but donating time is just as important!"

Connie and Greg volunteer with us on most Tuesdays, sign up to volunteer with them!

Our dream is to fill our hub with our amazing volunteers 💚!

If you’re interested in getting in on all of the fun here at GCH, come by and volunteer with us!

On Tuesdays from 9:30 AM to 11:30 AM, we host food sorting every week! This is where volunteers help us pack groceries to prepare for Friday’s big distribution. Every other week, we have product sorting in our warehouse at the same time! This allows volunteers to work in our warehouse and help us pack and sort through donated items.

On Fridays, we host our big Friday Distribution. This even has two opportunities: traffic and distribution. Traffic opportunities start from 7:30 AM to 11:30 AM, these volunteers help us keep track of the number of cars coming in and ensure a smooth operation! For our active distribution, the shift starts at 8 AM and ends at 12 PM. These volunteers help us with a quick setup before the event starts at around 9! Here, they can help us distribute our groceries to the families that come by!
