This months solar education series in The Flume is "What happens when the power goes out?"
Want to know the difference between a whole-home backup vs. critical loads? We answer that in this article.
We strive to help people make informed decisions about energy with long-term reliability.

We're so proud of our Project Manager, Steven Nary.

This week, Steven is volunteering in Honduras, helping bring solar power to three remote village schools that have never had electricity.

The days are long, with more than three hours of travel each way on washed-out roads and rides in the back of pickup trucks through pouring rain. But for Steven, the chance to make a difference is worth every mile.

At Colorado Mountain Solar, Spreading Positive Energy isn't just our slogan—it’s something we strive to live every day. We’re grateful to have Steven leading our team and showing what it means to use your skills, knowledge, and heart to serve others, both here at home and around the world.

Need a new roof but have solar!!

"Detach and reset" jobs are becoming more common in the solar industry, and they require seamless coordination. We love partnering with amazing local crews like 3rd Gen Roofing to get the job done right.

For this recent project, we pulled the panels, the roof was completely replaced, and we reinstalled the solar system with only 2.5 days of total downtime for the homeowner. Speed, efficiency, and a brand-new roof ready for decades of clean energy!

It started out as a slow year for solar, but things are officially picking back up!

Lately, we’ve been doing a ton of upgrades on older systems, helping folks breathe new life into their setups. But this recent project was a special milestone for the crew.

This job marked our 60th installation of Fortress Power inverters and batteries over the last two years! Not bad for a one crew small business.

When you live up here in the mountains, you can’t mess around with unreliable gear. The weather is tough, the grids can be unpredictable, and backup power isn't a luxury—it's a necessity. We keep going back to Fortress because the reliability of these systems has been absolutely amazing. Our clients get true peace of mind, and we get to sleep easy knowing we installed equipment built to last.

Huge thank you to everyone who has trusted us with their homes over the last two years. Whether you're looking to upgrade an existing system, add whole-home backup, or go completely off-grid, we're ready to help you gear up for whatever winter throws at us next.

Excited to share the latest edition of our monthly solar education series in The Flume! This month’s topic: how solar technology has changed over the last 10 years — from higher-efficiency panels to smarter battery backup systems and more customizable energy solutions.

Solar today is more reliable, efficient, and adaptable than many people realize, especially for mountain living here in Colorado. Whether you are considering grid-tied solar to offset utility costs or an off-grid system with battery and generator backup, it’s important to design a system that fits our unique climate, elevation, and seasonal conditions.

Our goal is to help homeowners make informed decisions about energy independence and long-term reliability.

Check out this month’s article and feel free to reach out with questions about what solar options make sense for your property and goals.

The Ultimate Off-Grid Powerhouse (and Utility Killer)

Most people think going off-grid is only for tiny cabins—but the Sinz Legacy project proves you can have a massive home with zero compromise.
We just finished installing a "Fortress" of a system designed for total energy independence. With 100A of continuous power, this home runs with the same reliability as the grid, but with the freedom of the sun.

The Tech Stack:
Energy Harvest: 20 x 440W bifacial panels on a rugged MT Solar Pole mount.

Pure Power: Dual 12kW Envy inverters delivering a massive 100A output. Fortress Power

Storage: 38.4kWh of total backup via 4 x 9.6kWh Eforce batteries.

Security: 14kW generator integrated for "just in case" backup.

Works Great with the Utility Too

Crush Rising Utility Costs: Use battery storage to dodge peak demand charges.

Total Peace of Mind: Professional installation means a system that actually works when you need it most.

Reliable Service: We don't just install and disappear—we build systems designed for decades of performance.
Whether you're starting a new build, upgrading a legacy system, or just want to take control of your monthly bill or be off the grid, we build systems that deliver.
