The Dun!! Thank you to McGuire Development for letting us tour the renovation this morning. Designed by Green & Wicks in 1895 and renovated many times over the 130 years, the new evolution of its life will have apartments and a restaurant. We’re excited to see the progress and thankful to see a major iconic building get a new life in Downtown Buffalo.

E.B. Green designed so many of Buffalo’s favorite buildings - we’re touring them by bike this weekend!

E.B. Green disliked the growing reliance on cars so much that he rebelled by designing and building Mayfair Lane. Mayfair puts the cars below deck and focuses on giving residents a private lane, without a view of the car. He modeled it after an English Tudor village and lived there with his son.

So as a little treat to those who are riding with us this weekend, we’re going to do a special pit stop at Mayfair Lane to see it up close!

Bernice stopped by to see our friends at Sloan's Antiques this weekend to get some inspiration for 72 Sycamore. They just completed the local landmark process for their properties, too!!

Since 72 Sycamore is one of the oldest properties in the City of Buffalo (built pre civil war) and dare we say the oldest still standing built by and for a woman (Eliza Quirk!!), it’s a little harder to source materials and furniture from that time. But we’re on the hunt!

The gigantic Dairy Queen sign won’t fit in the building (lol) but we think we will be able to bring back some of the Eliza Quirk vibes with furniture and some historic pieces such as a fireplace, mirrors, lighting, etc. It will be hard to blend old with modern but that’s what makes this project so fun!
