Long before she ever set foot on a college campus, Marnie Mancuso was already designing environments.

It was an early sign of a lifelong instinct and Mancuso has always been drawn to the way a well-thought-out environment can shape an experience.

Today, as UB Libraries' Facilities Planning and Management Officer, she makes sure people can enjoy the library as an experience and not just use it as a resource.

Get to know one of the faces behind our spaces in our latest staff spotlight! ⬇️

Michelle Zafron, an associate librarian in Health Sciences Library Services at the UB Libraries, has been promoted to the rank of librarian, also known as full librarian!

Promotion to librarian is the highest professional rank a librarian can achieve at UB, recognizing superior contributions across four areas: excellence throughout a candidate's career, impact on the communities served, research or scholarship that has influenced the field and a national or international reputation among peers.

Please join us in congratulating Michelle on this honor! 🎉📚🤘

Zafron has served in Health Sciences Library Services since 2003, first as senior assistant librarian, then in her current rank since 2009.

Online, many describe romanticizing college as a matter of finding joy amidst otherwise stressful academic endeavors. This might entail bringing a sweet treat to your study session or curating an aesthetic study spot. Senior Anisha Aktar attributes much of her ability to romanticize UB to the university’s libraries. 📚

Anisha shows how finding pockets of joy makes space for community, friendship and academic success at UB in our latest student spotlight.💡
