New York State has awarded $97.1 million to 35 projects aimed at improving pedestrian and bicycle safety, expanding trails, and creating more opportunities for active transportation!

Of that funding, $11.4 million will support three projects right here in Western New York:

📍 Town of Amherst – $7 million: Construction of a multi-use trail along the former New York Central Railroad corridor (Peanut Line).

📍 City of North Tonawanda – $2.7 million: Sidewalk improvements around city schools.

📍 Town of West Seneca – $1.7 million: New sidewalks, curb ramps, and crosswalks along Seneca Street and Ridge Road.

These investments will help create safer, more accessible ways for residents to walk, bike, and connect with their communities.
