What comes easily to you could make someone else’s day a little easier.

Maybe you’re handy with tools. You have a truck and an hour to spare. You’re a patient teacher, a good listener, or the person who always knows where to find help.

Today is National Make a Difference Day. Take a look at what you have to offer, then think about who could use it.

Help a neighbor tackle a repair. Pass along furniture you no longer need. Volunteer for a cause you care about. Check in on someone who’s been quiet lately.

Pick one thing. Reach out. Follow through.

Today is National Make A Difference Day, and yesterday’s Flagler Fall Outreach event gave us plenty to celebrate!

Flagler Habitat for Humanity was glad to join local organizations to connect with neighbors, share information, and be part of a great community turnout.

Thank you to Flagler County Human Services for organizing the event, to the participating organizations for sharing resources, and to everyone who stopped by our table.

Making a difference starts with showing up for one another. Thank you, Flagler County, for doing just that!

That dining table you donate. That dresser you bring home. Both help build something bigger.

When you donate to or shop at the Flagler Habitat ReStore, you help fund affordable home construction and repairs right here in Flagler County. Those efforts help neighbors build stability, preserve homes, and strengthen our community.

You also keep usable furniture, appliances, and building materials out of landfills and give others an affordable way to make a house their own.

Here's a little homeownership fact that might surprise you!

Ceiling fans don't actually lower the temperature of a room. They make YOU feel cooler by creating a breeze.

According to the U.S. Department of Energy, using a ceiling fan while your air conditioner is running may allow you to raise your thermostat by approximately 4°F without sacrificing comfort.

And here's the part many people don't realize:

Leaving a ceiling fan running in an empty room wastes electricity!

Since fans cool people rather than rooms, turning them off when nobody is there is an easy way to conserve energy.

Sometimes, knowing where to turn for help makes all the difference.

Flagler Habitat for Humanity is proud to participate in the **Flagler Fall Outreach**, joining dozens of local organizations dedicated to helping our neighbors and strengthening our community!

This event brings valuable resources and services together in one convenient location, including:

Did you know Marineland opened in 1938 as the world's first underwater motion picture studio?

They built a movie studio for fish, and the fish became the stars!

After facing an uncertain future, Marineland was saved by new ownership in December 2025!

Today, this historic Flagler County treasure continues making waves through marine conservation, education, and hands-on learning experiences for students, including homeschool programs.

At Flagler Habitat for Humanity, we love celebrating local organizations that invest in our community and future generations.

Nearly 88 years later, Marineland still knows how to make a splash!
