Member Video Spotlight: Family Promise of the Verdugos
About Family Promise of the Verdugos:
Family Promise of the Verdugos, FPV, was created by a group of dedicated volunteers including local congregation leaders as a means to help situationally homeless families who at times are not as visible as the chronic homeless population. One of our founding board members, Jennifer Greene-Smith, had learned about the Family Promise National organization when she was studying. Jennifer, along with Pastor Paul Clairville from Westminster Presbyterian, brought the idea to our community and soon after community meetings began to take place. From 2008-2010 several fundraisers took place in order to raise funds to open our doors. Many community meetings took place to develop our name, by-laws, board of directors and hire staff. It was during this time that we created what we were then known as, Family Promise of the East San Fernando Valley.

POSITION SUMMARY:
The Fund Development Coordinator is responsible for directing the fundraising activities for Family Promise of the Verdugos. They will develop and implement fundraising strategies and forecast
fundraising estimates for the organization. Currently Family Promise of the Verdugos has a $2 million annual budget and the position will strive to help Family Promise achieve a $3 million annual budget in order to support the organizational growth and to meet the needs of the community including housing
the homeless and preventing homelessness.
