Join us on Saturday, October 10 at 10:15 AM at the Main Library in Burgaw for this event featuring author Penny S. Ledbetter.

In 1912, author Penny S. Ledbetter's family moved from the Netherlands to Van Eeden, one of Hugh MacRae's Pender County colonies. Her new children’s novel, De Lange Reis: The Long Journey, was inspired by this story and aims to teach young readers about the strength and resilience that can be found in family, friendship, and hope. During this event, Penny will share how she came to write the story and the research behind it. Copies of De Lange Reis: The Long Journey will be available for purchase.
