For volunteers wishing to renew their service with the South Dakota 4-H youth development program for the 2026-2027 year, the following activities will need to be completed before any 4-H programming is allowed to happen. Volunteers will not be considered approved to work with youth without completing these activities:
Re-enroll in 4-H online
Pay $10 Volunteer Dues to county 4-H Office (Leader's Corporation covers this)

New Volunteers will need to complete additional steps outlined in the Becoming a 4-H Volunteer Checklist, which can be found here:https://extension.sdstate.edu/sites/default/files/2023-02/MC-02898-05.pdf

Volunteers will not be considered approved to work with youth without completing these activities:
Indicate interest by completing an application:
Interview with local 4-H Staff
Online 4-H Orientation Training Modules
Background check through SDSU Human Resources
4-H Online Enrollment

YOUR TOWN, YOUR VOICE: CLOVER CONNECT!
Give your 4-H'ers the chance to learn how they can make a difference in their communities!
Join South Dakota 4-H and SDSU’s School of American and Global Studies for a fun, hands-on day exploring local government, civic engagement, and how YOUR voice matters! Youth will take part in real-world simulations and connect with community leaders while discovering how local decisions are made.
When: November 7 | 10:00 AM–2:30 PM
Where: Mitchell, SD
Cost: $5 per participant
Limited to 25 participants!
