In any large fundraising event, there are so many behind the scenes stories…but this has to be the story of the day!
With this week’s rains, there was an extra challenge at the 15th Annual “100 Shots for the 100 Club” Clay Shoot - THE HILL!
Some carts needed a bit of extra manpower to get up the muddy mess…and Micheal Bradley of the Grizzly Glass team jumped out to help PUSH and in the slippery goo his college ring slipped OFF into the sea of mud!
Unknowingly, we rolled up just seconds afterwards on a picture-taking mission of the 72 fielded teams and found Mike & his team frantically sifting through the mud as if panning for gold (literally)!
I could see on his face how much that ring meant to him and suggested looking for it with a metal detector once the weather cleared (not having a clue where to even get a metal detector 😳).
Last night I the reached out to our venue sponsor - The Beaumont Guest Ranch & Event Center - told them the story & asked if Mike & his team could come search this morning. Not only did Beaumont say yes, but offered the use of their 2 metal detectors!
Shortly after arrival and a bit more mud, the ring was FOUND!
I love a good happy ending and the TEAMWORK of community working together for a good cause no matter the size!

Proceeds benefit the Chisholm Trail 100 Club’s mission to “Stand in the gap for our First Responders and their families in times of tragedy”.
Between 2023-2025, the CT100 Club disbursed $125,000 to the families of 10 fallen First Responders in the Club’s service area of Johnson County, Somervell County and Hood County. These monies can never replace these fallen First Responders, but helps the families with immediate financial needs during tragic and difficult circumstances.
