BURLESON’S SUMMER HOT LIST IS HERE
The new Burleson Police Department Top 10 Most Wanted list is officially out, and while the Texas heat is rising, so is our focus on finding the people who keep making poor life choices.
This month’s list includes a familiar face in the “bonus feature” spot.
Juanrico is back again at Number 11, continuing what can only be described as a long-running guest appearance on Burleson’s Most Wanted list.
Some people book summer vacations.
Some apparently book repeat appearances.
Take a look through this month’s Summer Hot List and help us keep the pressure on.
If you know where any of these individuals may be, call Burleson PD at 817-426-9903, call Crime Stoppers at 817-469-8477, or email [email protected].
As always, do not attempt to approach or apprehend these individuals yourself. You bring the tips. We’ll bring the handcuffs.
No vacation from warrants.

Parenting in a connected world is challenging, but you do not have to navigate it alone.
Join the Burleson Police Department for “Protecting Our Kids in a Digital World” on Wednesday, May 27th, from 6:00 PM to 8:00 PM at:
Victory Family Church
455 NW John Jones Dr.
Burleson, TX 76028
Near the NW John Jones Dr. and Hillside Dr. intersection
This free class will cover practical phone and app settings, how grooming, sextortion, and online blackmail can happen, risks on gaming platforms, and what to do if a child is targeted. We will also discuss risks connected to gaming platforms, social media apps, messaging apps, and other online spaces where kids may interact with strangers.
**** Important - Childcare note **** :
Childcare is only available for those who previously registered for it through Victory Family Church. Childcare registration is now closed, and childcare will not be available for anyone who did not already register.
**** Please note **** : This is a serious and direct presentation. We will not use explicit images or inappropriate language, but we will be honest about difficult topics involving online child exploitation, blackmail, grooming, and victimization. Some of the content may be heavy.
Because of the nature of the topic, teens should generally be 11 years old or older and mature enough to handle serious conversations. Teens attending should be with a parent or guardian.
There will be time for questions and answers at the end.
This class is open to parents, grandparents, educators, youth leaders, and teens attending with a parent or guardian.
We hope to see you there as we work together to help protect kids in a digital world.

5/24/26 at 8:59 PM Thank you for your patience. The carnival and concert will resume. The carnival will only be selling tickets for activities and not wrist bands.
5/24/26 at 4:36 PM
For the safety of our guests and staff, carnival rides are temporarily paused due to lightning detected within a 10-mile radius. Ride operations will resume once we have been lightning-free for 30 minutes.
We will make updates as we can.
We appreciate your patience and understanding as we follow these safety precautions. In the meantime, enjoy the food, games and entertainment while we wait for the weather to pass.

Chief for a Day: Phoenix Takes Command!
The Burleson Police Department had the honor of welcoming Phoenix as our Chief for a Day!
Phoenix got a behind-the-scenes look at what it takes to serve our community, including time with Patrol, Criminal Investigations, Crisis Negotiations, Traffic Officers/Motors, and Dispatch.
From meeting officers to learning about the different units that help keep Burleson safe, Phoenix did an outstanding job stepping into the role of Chief for the day.
Thank you, Phoenix, for spending the day with us — you will always be part of the BPD family! 💙

Burleson is better because of the people and partners who support it.
During National Police Week last week, we were blessed by several generous community partners who stopped by with snacks, meals, and kind words of encouragement for our officers and staff.
Thank you to Walmart Supercenter Burleson, Jennifer Herren - State Farm, Christ Chapel South for the meals, and Texas Health Burleson for the thoughtful gestures and continued partnership. The snacks and meals were greatly appreciated, but the ongoing support and teamwork mean even more.
We are grateful to serve a community where businesses, churches, healthcare partners, and residents continue working together to make Burleson a great place to live, work, and serve.

While celebrating National Police Week, we want to take time to remember Officer Janice Venderveer who on the evening of December 26th, 1987, was struck by a vehicle while establishing a flare pattern in heavy fog at the scene of an accident.
The next day, Officer Vanderveer died at a Fort Worth hospital on her 36th birthday. Officer Vanderveer had been with the Burleson Police Department for seven months. She was a beloved wife, mother, daughter and sister. Her daughter, Aimee, was seven and her son, Adam, was eighteen months old at the time of her death.
At the Officer's request, her organs were donated. Her sacrifice shall not be forgotten.
Rest In Peace, Officer Vanderveer. We have the watch from here....
