It's time for Friday Afternoon Matinees at the library! Come and join us as we watch a Friday afternoon movie the first 3 Fridays in November at noon. We’ll even provide the popcorn and a drink, or feel free to bring your own snacks.
This event is free. No library card or registration is required. This event will be held in the Burleson Public Library meeting room.

How do authors find the perfect names for their characters and places? Learn how names can build believable characters, reveal clues, add humor, and give stories more meaning. We’ll also touch on the important considerations of using names, brands, and humor in your writing.

Do you think you could survive a zombie apocalypse?

Put your survival skills to the test in the Zombie Apocalypse Preparedness Program (ZAPP), an interactive experience for youth ages 10+ and their parents, presented by the North Central Texas Council of Governments Emergency Management Department.

Step into a zombie survival simulation where you’ll face challenges, make critical decisions, and learn real-world emergency preparedness skills along the way. Participants will discover how to create an emergency plan, build an emergency kit, identify hazards, manage limited resources, and work together when it matters most.

And the best part? Everyone goes home with their own resilience kit!

This program is best suited for ages 8-12, but all readers are welcome. We will also be doing some fun spooky activities. Reading the book is not required to attend, but is highly encouraged.
