MISSION STATEMENT

Our mission is to provide and maintain, as much as is practicable, and given all available, resources, a feeling of security and safety among all persons within our legal jurisdiction. Our mission is our legitimate basis for existence and the basis of our professional ethics, goals, objectives, rules, regulations, operating policies, procedures, and practices. Mission is functionally defined by the power established by legislated authority and the demands for service from our public. It is the direct and ultimate responsibility of the Sheriff to interpret public demands and, within budgeted resources, provide for the best possible delivery of our services. The nature of public safety and security forces services are varied. Examples include but are not limited to: equal, equitable, and fair enforcement of laws; responding to calls for non-enforcement services; active patrol; security and protection of prisoners; personnel, on-duty as well as off duty. These services, and the perception we create while engaging in these services, are functionally defined, made real and ultimately judged by the nature of activities we engage in as well as how we appear while engaged in such activities. In summary, our mission is to deliver a service as well as a perception of service, i.e.; a feeling of safety and security. Our mission is a contract with our citizens as well as an affirmation of their trust. A contract that each employee is charged with the responsibility to protect and promote. Failure to do so will lead to the loss of citizen empathy for our needs, result is public alienation, and eventually bring out the loss of the publics confidence and our authority to exist.

🚧Upcoming Road Construction 🚧

Paving will start this Friday morning, October 2nd on Parke Ave. The contractor will pave from the south horseshoe (parent drop off exit) north to 16th Stret two lanes wide of asphalt (about 24-feet wide) and then start back from 16th Street towards the high school. There will not be any access to the school on Friday from morning to about 1:00 pm. If access is needed before 1:00 pm, please park somewhere in the neighborhood and walk to the school. After 1:00 pm school access and for the Homecoming Football Game, access to the high school will be in the north drive. The South Access (KFAC) will still be closed. On Monday, it is recommended that students come in from 16th Street and drive on the asphalt to get to the school. Please watch for construction traffic at all times.

There was a semi at 8th St and Overland Ave this evening that took out a large amount of power lines. Law enforcement has been on scene as well as Burley City. Due to the large scale damage it will be at least a few hours before power is fully back up, we do not have an exact estimated time of restoration as of now. This situation has left stop lights out in certain areas too that are being monitored and temporary signs are in the works. If you come upon an intersection with no lights, please use it as a four way stop. Thank you for your patience and understanding. Please be safe in the meantime.

2026 Cassia County Fair & Rodeo — Parking Reminder

As we get ready for the 2026 Cassia County Fair and Rodeo, the Cassia County Sheriff’s Office would like to remind everyone to please be mindful of where you park.

With large crowds expected throughout the fair and rodeo, it is important that vehicles are parked only in designated and permitted parking areas. Vehicles parked in unpermitted areas are subject to citation and/or towing at the vehicle owner’s expense.

Please take a moment to check posted signs and parking restrictions before leaving your vehicle. Keeping access areas clear helps ensure the safety of fairgoers, residents, emergency personnel, and event staff.

We appreciate everyone’s cooperation and hope you have a safe and enjoyable 2026 Cassia County Fair and Rodeo!

Although we have passed the hottest part of the day, please remain cautious with the hot temperatures today and the remaining couple of weeks! Please stay inside as much as possible and if you are going out here are a few things to remember:

-Wear sunscreen!
-Stay hydrated, if you think you have had enough water, you probably didn’t. Have some more!
-Do not leave children, animals, or elderly in the car without air conditioning. Not even for a quick run into the store! It is not worth it, we promise.
-Please ensure your pets have access to fresh water and shade at all times.
-Keep an eye on yourself and your loved ones if you are outside, watch for signs of heat exhaustion or heat stroke. These can be be detrimental!

As much as we all love to enjoy the sunshine, we want a safe and healthy community. So please be cautious and you should probably go drink some water right now!
