Alamance County Beekeepers We are beekeepers who share an interest in staying informed about honey bee colony management, their maintenance and care, as well as honey production.

We are also actively involved in educating the public about the wonderful world of the honey bee. Alamance County Beekeepers is a local chapter of the North Carolina State Beekeepers Association. We are a local group of beekeepers who share an interest in staying informed about bee management, maintenance and care, as well as honey production. We meet once a month to share ideas, knowlegde and stay informed about local bee care and maintenance. We go to public events, schools, etc to demonstrate and promote awareness about the importance of honey bee pollination to the economy and beauty of our area.

🐝 WHY DO WE NEED HONEY BEES? 🌻

Honey bees are much more than producers of delicious honey. They play an incredibly important role in our environment and in the food we enjoy every day.

🐝 Honey bees are pollinators. As they move from flower to flower collecting nectar and pollen, they help plants reproduce and produce fruits, vegetables, seeds, and nuts.

🌱 They help our food supply. Many crops depend on pollinators to produce the foods we eat. Without healthy pollinator populations, our food system would face serious challenges.

🌎 They support our ecosystem. Bees help flowering plants thrive, which provides food and habitat for many other insects, birds, and animals.

🍯 They provide more than honey. Beekeeping also gives us products such as beeswax and supports farmers, gardeners, and local communities.

❀️ Protecting honey bees means protecting our future. Plant flowers, avoid unnecessary pesticide use, provide clean water, and support your local beekeepers.

Every bee matters. Every flower matters. Every one of us can help.

🐝 Save the bees. Plant for the bees. Support your local beekeeper. 🌻🍯
