🏫👥 Public education is a community endeavor.

From school dances and fall festivals to field trips, career days, and after-school programs, volunteers help make many of the experiences that enrich students' lives possible.

By getting involved, parents, caregivers, and community members help expand the opportunities available to students both inside and outside the classroom.

🏫 A different office for the day!

Today, President Tracey Grayzer and VP of Education Programming Tyronna Ho**er, alongside Impact Alamance board members Nikki Ratliff and Griffin McClure, participated in Alamance County’s first-ever Principal for a Day, gaining firsthand insight into the important work of our public school leaders.

We’re proud to have partnered with the Alamance Chamber and Alamance Community Foundation to help bring this program to life. Thank you to the Alamance-Burlington School System for welcoming participants into schools across the county, and to Alamance Community College for hosting a luncheon that helped deepen the conversation around public education and its impact on our community.

We left the day with an even deeper appreciation for our school leaders, as well as a better understanding of how the broader community can support their important work.

🌿☀️ We spent yesterday afternoon soaking up the beautiful weather with our friends from the Alamance Wellness Collaborative!

A big thank-you to the team at Alamance Partnership for Children for hosting this month's meeting and sharing more about how they support local children and families, including their work to create Outdoor Learning Environments (OLEs).

To experience an OLE firsthand, collaborative members headed outside for a scavenger hunt through the Partnership's own outdoor learning space in Glencoe Mill Village. These nature-based environments help spark imagination, encourage exploration, and support healthy childhood development through play.

🚜🌱 Yesterday, Teacher Leadership Academy (TLA) participants spent the day learning the ins and outs of Alamance County’s agricultural sector.

From local farms to the agribusinesses that support them, our group heard from local agricultural leaders, learned about the challenges and opportunities facing farmers in our community, and identified opportunities to connect classroom learning with real-world experiences and career pathways rooted in our community.

An enormous thank you to the Alamance County Cooperative Extension and Alamance County Soil and Water Conservation District for helping make this day happen!
