Fog Seal Update:
Today, Tuesday, the 15th we will be working from the east river bridge of Burlington to 12th and Quail Road.

As always, please abide by the road signs and follow the pilot car.

Fog Seal Update:
Today, Friday the 11th we will be on Trefoil Road Between 16th Road and 22nd Road.
As always, please abide by the road signs and follow the pilot car.

Fog Seal Update:
Today, Thursday the 27th we will be starting on Trefoil Road south of Waverly and travel to 16th Road.

We will finish the day by sealing on Iris Road from Ottumwa to 20th Road.

As always, please abide by the road signs and follow the pilot car.

Fog Seal Update...
8/26/26- we will be working on Iris Road from Ottumwa to 22nd Road. As well finishing intersections on Fauna Road from 22nd to Highway 50.

Again, there will be a pilot car and we ask that you please follow the traffic signs accordingly.

Coffey County will be starting the fog seal program today, the 25th of August. We will begin with 22nd Road to Highway 50 on Fauna Road. There will be a pilot car. Please obey all traffic signs.

We will update the location daily.

***Update*** Landfill is OPEN

Coffey County Landfill will be closed until further notice, due to not having power. We will post when the power comes back on.

Old Highway 50 from Lynx Road to Highway 75 is opened back up until Monday. Then it will remain closed to traffic for 6 weeks.

Road Closure Notice:
Old Highway 50 will be CLOSED TO THRU TRAFFIC from Lynx Road to Highway 75 for a road widening project.

Reminder of Dust Control Deadline....

Coffey County Highway Department is taking applications for the Dust Abatement Program until Friday, March 27, 2026.

If you intended to make an application and haven’t, please contact our office at 1510 S 6th Street or call 620-364-2441 as soon as possible.

With the upcoming winter storm, Road and Bridge will have crews out this weekend. The crews will work all day Saturday and into Sunday. Our section blade operators will be out running their sections from sunup to sundown. If need be, they will also be clearing Sunday as well. If you are planning on traveling on the county roads, please plan ahead for the existing road conditions and give our operators space. This is so they can complete their work safely and that all motorists remain safe during these winter conditions.
If you do NOT have to be out, STAY HOME AND STAY SAFE.
