THESE CHILDREN MAY NEVER MAKE THE 5 O’CLOCK NEWS.
Their faces may never receive national coverage—but they are somebody’s children. They are loved, we care about them, and we are praying for their safe return.
When Native people disappear across the Northern Plains, families face rural isolation, jurisdictional confusion, limited resources and racism. Native youth are too often dismissed as “runaways” instead of treated as missing children. Not every law-enforcement agency responds this way, but too few give our cases the urgency they deserve.
There are only about 55 Native-centered domestic-violence shelters serving 574 federally recognized Tribes. Across South Dakota, Montana, North Dakota, Wyoming, Nebraska and Colorado, culturally grounded shelter beds remain dangerously limited. Advocacy and referrals matter—but a phone number is not a safe place to sleep.

Share it across the Northern Plains. One person may recognize a face, remember something or hold the information that helps bring one of these children home.
We see them. We are saying their names. We are praying for their protection and safe return.
